FAQ
Harnesses
Do I have to cut or splice any factory wiring?
No. Our harnesses plug directly into your factory connectors. No cutting, no splicing, no guessing.
Can I return my boat to stock?
Yes, and it's simple. Unplug the harnesses, remove the aftermarket amplifier, and plug your stock amplifier back into the factory connectors.
Will it fit my boat?
Use our Find Your Harness tool to pick your year, make, and model. If your boat isn't listed, send us a message with your boat and the audio system you have, and we'll help you work out what you need.
Are these DIY friendly?
Yes, that's who they're made for. Channels are labeled and everything is plug-and-play. If you can reach your factory connectors, you can install one.
What are the harnesses made of?
Tinned OFC wiring, properly specced for marine use. Every harness is fit checked on real boats and bench tested before it ships.
Which harness do I need?
It depends on your system and what you're adding. Our Which Harness Do I Need page walks through it. Or send us your boat and your plans and we'll point you to the right one.
Amplifier Packages
What is an amplifier package?
An amp (or a full amp rack) prewired to our integration harnesses and pretuned for the specific components it will power. You install it, plug it in, and it's ready to go.
What's in a package?
It depends on the build.
- Loose amp packages include the pretuned amplifier, the matching harness prewired to the needed channels, and an upgraded power and ground kit if your setup needs one.
- Amp rack packages ship with all amplifiers and components mounted and wired on the board, including distribution blocks and DSPs if specced. Harnesses are prewired and ready to plug into your stock system, with the power and ground kit if your setup needs one.
What comes in the power and ground kit?
The right run lengths for your boat, pre-lugged, with a Kicker MRBF fuse holder and a Z post included. If your package adds a distribution block, it comes fused for the amps you chose.
Do I need an upgraded power and ground kit?
It depends on your amplifier setup. We spec it for your package and include it when it's needed.
How do you tune the amps?
On our bench with professional-grade tools, matched to the specific components being powered. We don't tune by ear and we don't set levels from a picture or a guide.
Can I tune the amps myself?
We don't recommend it, and you don't need to. Every package ships pretuned, so there's nothing left to set. Adjusting gains without proper electrical tools is guesswork, and guesswork is how people end up with distortion and damaged speakers, subs, and amps. Plug it in and it's ready to go.
Send Tune Send
What is Send Tune Send?
A tuning service for the Hertz OEM amplifiers in your Yamaha boat. You ship us your amps, we tune them on the bench with professional tools, and we send them back ready to install. Learn more on the Send Tune Send page.
Which amps does this cover?
The Hertz V4, V4C, V5, and V5C OEM amplifiers found in Yamaha boats.
Why do my factory Hertz amps need to be retuned?
There was no proper tuning procedure for those amps before the boats left the factory, so most of them have never sounded the way they should. In our experience, the factory settings let them put out only 10–15% of their true output potential.
What do you tune them to?
The equipment the amp will power. Whether you're keeping your stock components or upgrading, we tune each amp to match what it's driving.
How much does it cost?
$100 per amplifier, plus return shipping, which is calculated at checkout.
How long does it take?
5 days from the day we receive your amps.
How do I send my amps in?
Place your order, choose your amp model, and set the quantity to the number of amps you're sending. We'll email you instructions for shipping them to us. We recommend insuring your package on its way to us.
How will my amps come back?
We ship them back in the exact same packaging they arrived in.
Can I add amps or replace the factory ones?
Yes. We make plug-and-play harnesses for that too. Message us and we'll help you plan it.
Ordering
How long does it take to get my order?
- Harnesses: ship within 1-3 business days.
- Pretuned amps: 5 days for tuning.
- Amp rack builds: 10 days, since each one is built and tuned for your setup.
- Send Tune Send: 5 days from the day we receive your amps.
What's your return policy?
Harnesses can be returned within 30 days. Amp packages and racks are built for your setup, so returns are handled case by case. Contact us and we'll work it out with you.
Is there a warranty?
Our harnesses carry a 1-year limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship.
Amps keep their normal manufacturer warranty. Loose amps go through the manufacturer's normal warranty process. If an issue comes up with a mounted amp board or rack, contact us and we'll decide together whether you swap out just that one amp or send the whole rack back to us.
Terms vary by brand and product, so check the policy for the equipment in your package:
- Kicker warranty
- Wet Sounds warranty and returns
- Hertz warranty
- Audio Dynamics warranty
- Modus warranty
Manufacturer warranties generally require the original purchase to be from an authorized dealer and don't cover misuse or improper installation.
I'm not sure what I need. Who do I ask?
Message us. We're the ones who answer, and we're happy to talk through a full build.
